Near the conclusion of World War II, a small unit from the 12th Armored Division is dispatched to liberate French political detainees. The soldiers quickly develop a mutual disdain with the sophisticated French captives, who are equally underwhelmed by the modest, disorganized group sent for their rescue. However, as the SS forces encircle the castle, both the soldiers and the prisoners must unite in battle to stand a chance against the formidable SS troops.
